Robert W. Shepard is the Board Chairman of Shepard Walton King Insurance Group.

He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA. A long-time member of Independent Insurance Agents of Texas. He has been active in the insurance business for over forty years. Shepard is a Past member of the Board of Directors and is Past President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas. Shepard has served on the Legislative Committee for a number of years. He has chaired the Windstorm Task Force. He is past member of  the Service Board and past  Chairman of Impact Board. He is a past member of the TWIA Board of Directors.

Shepard has been actively involved in higher education statewide and regionally. He was appointed Chairman of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board by Governor Rick Perry in July 2005 and served until 2009. He was first appointed to THECB by Governor George W. Bush in 1996. He served as Chairman and President of the College for All Texans Foundation.

Shepard is the Past President of the University of Texas-Brownsville Development Board and former chairman of the Board of Regents of Pan American University in Edinburg

He is the former chairman of the Harlingen Area Chamber of Commerce and the Past President of the Harlingen Economic Development Board. He has served on the boards of the Harlingen Industrial Foundation, Valley Partnership, Salvation Army and Texas Lyceum.
Bob Shepard and his wife Anne have five children between them and 8 grandchildren. He lives in Harlingen, Texas.

Raul, a Weslaco resident, graduated from Pan American University with Bachelor of Business Administration in 1987 and began working in the insurance industry at The Hartford. In 1991, he joined what is now Shepard Walton King.

Raul sells and services insurance products and programs for school districts and municipalities, artisan contractors, health care providers, non-profits, and retail/wholesale operations. A Certified Insurance Counselor, his practice includes property, general liability, fleet, workers compensation, professional errors and omissions and directors and officers liability insurance.

Raul’s long-term community involvement has benefited medical, civic, and educational organizations and his church. Raul and his wife Cynthia, who is also an executive at Shepard Walton King, have two sons.

Raised in Harlingen, Josh Fields graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Agricultural Economics. Prior to joining Shepard Walton King Insurance Group in 2003, he worked as a financial consultant.

Josh is a Certified Insurance Counselor and is actively involved in servicing large property and casualty clients, including South Padre Island condominiums & school districts in Cameron, Hidalgo & Willacy counties.

Josh and his wife Mia have two daughters and a son, and are active members of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Outside of work, Josh enjoys the outdoors by spending time fly-fishing and quail hunting. He also serves on the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association Board, is a Trustee for the Harlingen Water Works System, and is also a Board Member for the Harlingen Chamber of Commerce.

Valley native Chris Graham attended Texas A&M and the University of Texas Pan-Am and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Finance. He began his career as a Farmers Insurance liability adjuster before joining Alexander and Alexander in 1993 whose McAllen office was later purchased by Shepard Walton King Insurance Group.

Chris specializes in all aspects of commercial insurance. His background as an adjuster allows him to assist clients with their claims process, and his experience as a Certified Insurance Counselor helps clients find terrific insurance options. These traits provide Graham with a high long-term retention rate.
Graham graduated of Leadership McAllen, has served as president of the Coastal Conservation Association and the McAllen South Rotary Club. He has been the Committee Chairman of Boy Scout Troop 68 and is currently an Assistant Scoutmaster.  He is also on the Agents Advisory Council of Texas Windstorm Insurance Association and The United Fire Group Insurance Company.  Chris and his wife, Marianne, have three teenage sons. His passions include Fishing, Backpacking and Triathlons.

Cynthia, a Weslaco resident, graduated from the University of Texas-Pan Am with a B.A. in Business Management. She started her career with Allstate Insurance Company as a claims adjuster and then applied that knowledge to property and casualty insurance sales. As a Certified Insurance Counselor she has helped hundreds of individuals and business owners with their insurance needs since starting at Shepard Walton King in 1996.

Cynthia Cabaza’s wide range of experience and dedication to customer service resulted in her becoming a Stockholder at SWK in 2009. Cynthia has been married to Raul Cabaza for more than 28 years, and he is also a Stockholder at SWK. Now that their two sons are grown, they are raising two corgis. In her spare time, Cynthia enjoys running, cross fit and volunteering in her local community and at her church.

Aaron received his group health and welfare experience principally while serving in a variety of senior sales and regional management positions with a national health and welfare insurance company in Houston and Dallas. He is vastly experienced in helping mid to large employers evaluate and manage their group health plans, with a particular expertise in helping develop and manage all aspects of ASO plans.

Aaron is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. Raised in the Rio Grande Valley, Aaron joined SWEB as the Managing Partner of the Benefits Division in 2009. Aaron serves clients throughout all of Texas, with a large concentration located in Houston and South Texas.

Originally from Victoria, TX, Kirk Ashy graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, and has lived in Austin ever since. Kirk entered the insurance business in 1998 and worked for 2 national insurance firms. He focuses in group health and welfare plans for small to midsize employers. He is experienced in ASO, ACA and all other aspects of employee benefits.
Kirk joined Shepard Walton King in 2008 and manages the Austin Office. He and wife Kristin have 2 children. Kirk enjoys coaching his children’s sports teams, playing golf and tennis, as well as hunting and fishing.

Originally from Southlake, Texas, Matt Worsham graduated from Texas Christianity University in Fort Worth. He moved to Houston and entered the insurance business in 2009. Matt served 8 years with a $10 billion global insurance carrier, predominantly in the Texas marketplace specializing in group disability, life, and worksite solutions, with an eye on achieving efficiency through technology options.

Matt joined Shepard & Walton Employee Benefits as a partner in 2017 and operates out of the Sugar Land office. He and his wife Lauren have two children. Matt enjoys playing golf, traveling, watching sports and spending time with family and friends.
