Cynthia Cabaza Appointed to State Board of IIAT
Congratulations are in order to Cynthia Cabaza of McAllen, Texas as she becomes an important member of the State Board of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT). The IIAT appointed new members at the 118th annual meeting in San Antonio in late December of 2015.
The IIAT regularly meets at different areas of the state to hear feedback from other agencies and follow up with how to help each other grow and become a stronger network. It’s been a long time coming since a woman sat alongside other board members; more than 20 years, in fact.
In Her Own Words
“The last time they had a female member was back in the 80s,” stated Cabaza. She went on to say, “It was a man’s world, but now the board has expanded.” She continued by stating she senses a little pressure to fulfill her duties, but also feels confident and knows that she has much to bring to the table.
Cabaza is confident in her new role and knows that 2016 will bring even more opportunities for herself and other female agents. “I want to do more to promote ourselves to female independent insurance agents in our state because we need more women in the industry.”
We wish her the best of luck and look forward to hearing success stories of women and all agents of the IIAT this upcoming year.
